Jewell Berry

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6, 1999 for 80 year – old Jewell Berry, of Chester, who died today. (Thursday) Born on May 10, 1919, the daughter of Adolphus Mifflin and Lottie (Ward) Mifflin. She married Garrett Berry in 1937, and he proceeded in death in 1987.

She is survived by two sons; Garrett Berry of Chester, Donald Berry, of Chester, and one sister; Naomi Hartenberg, of Chester. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 6 great – grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, 7 sisters, and one grandson.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chester and a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Visitation will be on Friday from 5 – 8 pm, at the Schroeder – McClure Funeral Chapel, in Chester. Visitation will also be on Friday from 7:30 am till the time of the service. A funeral service for Jewell Berry will be on Saturday, at 11am, at the Schroeder – McClure Funeral Chapel. The Reverend Brian Law will officiate, and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church Widow Fund, the Alzheimer’s Library, or Three Springs Lodge.
