Funeral services will be Monday, July 19, 1999 for 74-year-old Paul Gaertner of Chester who died Thursday at his home.

Born April 30, 1925 in Evansville, the son of Lawrence Sr. and Susanna (Hesse) Gaertner.

He married Ida Gross in Chester on November 25, 1948 and she survives of Chester.

Also surviving is two sons, Gary of Jackson, Missouri and Stan of Ellis Grove. Three brothers, Lawrence Jr. of Evansville, Leander of Belleville and Norman of Walsh. One sister, Marie Schulein of Evansville. Five grandchildren also survive.

His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 3pm Sunday at the Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.

Funeral services for Paul Gaertner will be Monday morning at 11am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester with Father Dennis Schaefer officiating, burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials can be made in the form of Masses, to St. Mary’s School or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

A prayer service will be held Sunday evening at 5pm at the funeral home.
