Funeral services will be Monday, April 17, 2000 for 93-year-old Jacob "Jake" Wingerter of Chester, IL who died Thursday, April 13, 2000 at Chester Memorial Hospital.

Born March 20, 1907 on Kaskaskia Island, IL, the son of Jacob and Anna (Poenitske) Wingerter. He married Esther Thieret on October 28, 1939 in Perryville, MO and she survives of Chester, IL.

Also surviving are two daughters, Shirley Colvis and Linda Lang both of Chester. Five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several cousins also survive.

His parents, one son, one half brother and two half sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 4pm Sunday, April 16, 2000 at the Welge Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, IL.

Funeral services for Jake Wingerter will be Monday, April 17, 2000 at 10:00am at the Welge Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, IL with Rev. Mark Willig and Rev. Martin Springer officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Chester, IL.

Memorials can be made to the St. John Debt Fund or to St. John Radio Fund.
